Now that the weather is warmer, I've been getting out more. Not just for outfit photos, though obviously I'm ridiculously excited that I can take those again, too. Today I went for my first driving lesson to learn to drive a stick-shift (manual) car. I thought that it would be good to learn because it helps make you a more aware driver, and because it will give me more options when I'm in the boat to buy a car. I'm an absolutely terrible driver (stick or no stick) and it will obviously take me a bit to learn it all fully. It's terrifying when you remember how much damage you can really do with a car! The other night my dad reminded me of the time I crashed his car into the planter in our driveway, which was obviously the boost of self-esteem I needed after having just been dumped.
That wind-action was definitely catching my hair today. Having massively thick hair in the wind is terrible. You might as well just call me Cousin It on days like today.
I'm trying to let the fresh spring weather cheer me up a bit. I've been making an effort to try new things, meet new people, and go new places. I've got a photoshoot planned this weekend with a new friend, I'm arranging a trip to see the dinosaur exhibit at the Science Museum, and I've already got my next driving lesson planned with my friend! I'm still trying to shake the friend drama, and find a full-time position, but all in all, life is good. And even when it's not, at least I have a carrot sweater to make up for it.
I love the pairing of such a cute playful sweater with a more business appropriate outfit, so cute!
ReplyDeleteDo you have a link to your skirt? Does it have pattern to it or is that just my computer screen/how it looks on camera? Love this look. So cool that you can wear it to work.
ReplyDeleteHi Liz! I'm not finding a link to the skirt - I got it at Nordstrom several months ago, it's Halogen brand, and so it's probably no longer in stock. It doesn't have a pattern to it, but the fabric is slightly textured, so it picks up a little funny in photos. I noticed it too! I think it's like when people wear really thin stripes in TV or movies and it ends up being picked up by the camera super weird. But it's just grey with a slight woven texture.
DeleteYour jumper is so cute, and so cheerful! I love that it's cropped... all of my clothes are high waisted, and sometimes finding cropped jumpers is hard! It sounds like things are pretty positive, although they would be better if you were nearer and could walk to my house for dinner! xx
ReplyDeleteYes, I have the same issue with finding cropped tops! It also doesn't help that I'm very petite, so often times, even crop tops are not "cropped" on me. I'm still not giving up my high-waisted bottoms though!
DeleteI can see how a carrot sweater could cheer you up a little! It's such a gorgeous, fun color and the carrot graphic is super cute. I love this as an office outfit. I have certain things I have to wear at my internship so unfortunately I can't wear sweaters. Sad times. I love this one with the pencil skirt and boots though. Great combination!
ReplyDeleteThere's such thing as a "no sweater" dress code??!?!! That would not fly in Minnesota. I'm glad that my office dress code is simply "business casual" - and even with that, I dress on the more "business" side of things, compared to some of my co-workers. Whatever floats your boat, but I like dressing up (:
Deletethe best sweater! I agree- I love that a carrot sweater is professional enough to wear in the office.
ReplyDeleteI laughed at your 40 degree tropical comment, oh my gosh, I would not survive.
♥ perfectly Priya
